The second-oldest operating amusement park in America is 364 acres of whooshing, shrieking, laughing mayhem that overflows with record-breaking rides and many honors, among them Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Award for "Best Amusement Park in the World" sixteen years in a row. Nicknamed "America's Roller Coaster," Cedar Point contains 72 rides, 16 of which are exclusively roller coasters, with several of these smashing height-, speed-, and inversion-records, while winning countless awards since the park first opened nearly a century-and-a-half ago.
Blue Streak is a nostalgic, no-frills wooden roller coaster, and the oldest operating coaster in all of Cedar Point. Snake River Falls is a "shoot the chute" boat-flume ride that was the highest, fastest water ride on earth when it opened in 1993, with an 80-foot drop. GateKeeper is a 2013 addition to the park: a steel wing roller coaster that is currently certified the highest and longest wing-type coaster—with the highest roller coaster inversion—in the world. The Witches' Wheel is a park classic, turning riders upside down repeatedly while suspended sixty feet above the ground before sending them through a breakneck "pretzel" turn-around and a series of "bunny hops" and enclosed tunnels back to the loading station. Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad, another park classic, offers a relaxed 15-minute train ride at the edge of Lake Erie before entering "Bone Town," an Old West-style area.
Single Day tickets range from $29.99 to $54.99, depending on guest ages and whether tickets are purchased online or at the gate. Two Day "Ride & Slide" tickets, good for admission to both Cedar Point and Soak City on the same two days, are $45.99 for children and seniors, and $82.99 for adults. Passes for season-long attendants are available with the choice of a Season Pass ($104-$120 depending on guest-age and if the pass is or is not a renewal) or a Platinum Pass ($126-$187 depending on guest-age and if the pass is or is not a renewal). Season Passes allow unlimited visits to Cedar Point during the regular 2014 season and unlimited visits to HalloWeekends in the fall, but are not valid for admission into Soak City. Platinum Passes allow admission to all Cedar Fair parks, free parking at all Cedar Fair parks, special ride privileges, and more.
