Silverton Mountain

Overview

Recommended exclusively for diehard skiers and snowboarders with plenty of experience, Silverton Mountain prides itself on "the most pure skiing experience one can find today," according to professional skier Chris Davenport. Lift- and helicopter-served runs mix heli-skiing, resort-style skiing, and snowcat skiing over 1,800-acres of ungroomed, natural, backcountry-style terrain. Silverton Mountain is the only ski resort in the lower 48 States to offer heli-skiing by the drop, making extreme runs affordable to non-extreme budgets.

Information

Heli-skiing/heli-boarding trips are helicopter-enabled ride experiences, strictly for advanced and expert skiers/boarders. Heli-accessed ski touring, for the equally adventurous but less danger-inclined, is also available.
